The Prakash Sontakke Groups music could be best described as Genre Defying ,Rythmically tuneful and spiritually uplifting world fusion . Complex rythms sound effortlessly simple and Western Melodies intertwine with Indian raagas on Retro beats .Bossa Nova meets Konnakol and Ambient singing meets lounge flourishes -Fred Evans.



Prakash Sontakke -The only musician of Karanataka to get the Independent Music Awards for World fusion . He is the only guitarist of India playing different styles on the Electric Slide Guitar . Though from a very taditional Hindustani Classical background he is equally comfortable with other genres as he is with classical . Regularely travels abroad for performences in leading Music festivals in India , Canada ,USA ,the Nashville Award Just Plain Folks Award ,he also performs with "Moonarra" from Bangalore , "FOOD" from Norway featuring Ian Ballamy , Thomas Stronen,Eivand Aarset .He also features in various percussion ensembles like "Tala Taranagini "the TAS Mani ensemble ,"Laya Vrushti" ,"Layalahiri" , he has also featured in albums like Electric Sky from "Babu and Friends", Plan B from progressive Rock Band Thermal and a Quarter and many such experimental works



Karthik Mani - One of the most talented drummers of India he is also a versatile percussionist . Mixing Indian classical styles with western grooves can be called his specialisation. He is also a part of the Indo Canadian Trio to have gotten the Independent Music awards www.myspace.com/lehera

Adarsh a young and dynamic tabla player has been a part of various bands his specialization beingthat he can fit in fantastic Indian style grooves for complex western rythms

Shadrach Solomon - One of the very few keyboardists in India mixing Karnatic melodies and western styles he is the backbone of several bands like The L Subramanyam troupe , Layataranga and The Prakash Sontakke group
